Just wanted to leave a message telling you I’m having so much fun reading your blog. I’m myself originally from the Netherlands and have moved to Sweden. On a daily basis I’m in contact with people from all over the world. Which doesn’t just show the differences and the similarities, but especially a bit of self discovery, or learning and loving a country move than I ever did when I lived there.

Wish i could purchase in the U.S.. I have not been back to holland for over 20 years and miss the frikadel alot, almost worth the trip back to the motherland and Mussel also. If anyone knows a vendor in the U.S. please E-Mail back.

OMG, you know, I like your post immensely. And what I like more is that I recognize the restaurant. (It’s Graaf Floris by the way, not Graf Floris ^^). And when I go shopping in Utrecht I most of the time eat an Appelbol over there =D. I came on this place via your post of where you told you ate an Appel bol. I must say that the photo you used is kinda special, as there isn’t often a sunny day when I’m there

Not only ze Germans have a similar word. The Danish word for ‘gezellig’ is most definitely ‘hygge’. It encompasses the same wide use of ‘gezellig’.
